For my final film as a senior in college, I wanted to reflect on what it was like beginning college in 2020 and graduating in 2024. As the video conveys, it felt like I was drowning during the first two years of college. I experienced a deep sense of isolation due to a need to limit interactions during Covid. I also felt an immense pressure to perform well academically in spite of the pandemic. While things were dark and difficult in the beginning, in my final two years I began to feel the pressure and loneliness lift. In a sense I began to view life in a new, more colorful way.

I chose water for the metaphor of drowning, but also because I was a member of the men's swim team while I attended college. It was important for me to find ways to incorporate what had a large impact on my time in college. Since I spent a majority of my time during the year at the pool, it was the perfect setting for this film.

Other than a little help filming myself in the water, I acted, filmed, edited, and designed the audio for this piece on my own (* Audio clips came from Artlist.IO & were mixed by me).
